I set up Outlook in 1996, after working for a boutique research agency for 5 years, and previously in a marketing and fundraising role for Amnesty International.
My degree in International Law and Philosophy from the Sorbonne put me on the path of precise analysis of human thinking and behaviour. Recently, I have become particularly interested in Behavioural Economics, in the way it challenges market researchers in particular, and as a result, I have brought in new ways of thinking to Outlook.
A major part of my life outside of work is dedicated to my family and my friends (I love entertaining). I enjoy literature, TV and films as well as travelling. Politics is my passion and in another life, I might have been a political journalist. Is there still time?
I graduated from Goldsmiths College with an MA in English and worked in publishing and research before joining Outlook in 2007.
Respondents’ quirky thinking has always fascinated me – I look out for that momentary spark that will add depth and richness to our findings. I have a visually creative approach that helps bring to life the insights we deliver to clients.
I also love working with our evolving online qual tools, particularly getting involved in developing creative tasks that generate insightful feedback.
At home, I indulge my passion for interior design with my husband through renovation projects (including a Baptist chapel in North Wales), as well as food and wine and walking our Jack Russell on the beach.
Senior Research Executive
I arrived at Outlook in January 2013 as a Research Assistant, fresh out of university with an MA in Film and Literature and a BA in English from the University of York.
I greatly enjoy applying in market research the combination of my academic, analytical and creative skills, and do not automatically accept the obvious. I also specialise in editing our out-takes, consumer vox pops and, best of all, I love helping respondents upload their own video clips and stills into a colourful package for our clients. More recently I have been running our in house Field Department alongside my other research roles.
My particular passion is world cinema; I also love reading, going to the theatre and drumming.
Senior Quantitative Consultant
With almost 20 years in the market research industry (NOP, MHA, Leapfrog) and a degree in Social Psychology from Sussex University, I am always trying to combine an analytical mind with an interest in people, their behaviour and motivations. This approach helps with the true integration of quant with qual and enables us to get beyond just results and into the unraveling of the story that lies within, an area that I have found to be a particular strength of Outlook’s.
Outside of work, I’m in a choir and like a bit of private booth karaoke every now and then; I play the piano & I’m a bit of an Arsenal fan (the down years have been hard…!).
A Social Science graduate from the University of Manchester, I have been Outlook’s Financial Director since we started the company in 1996.
My prior varied business experience in management, sales and marketing, is the main driver in ensuring that Outlook has always been commercially viable, with a solid financial base (apologies to all clients who I have nagged for purchase orders!)
Outside of work, my family comes first. Passions include writing various forms of fiction, cycling, going to the theatre and cinema, walking and travelling. In another life, I would have been able to sing in tune and even play a musical instrument.
